Christian Benavides Lynch is from Los Angeles, California, where he lived until entering the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley. Graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Lynch worked for the office of Stanley Saitowitz, before returning to Los Angeles to accept a position with Franklin D. Israel Design Associates. In 1991 Christian moved to New York City to begin his graduate work at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

After receiving his Master of Architecture degree in 1994, Lynch traveled to Brazil on a Kinne Fellowship to study the work of Oscar Niemeyer. Upon returning to New York, Lynch resumed work at Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects, remaining there for almost four years. As Project Architect, Christian gained extensive building experience, culminating with the design and construction supervision of the Cooper Union Cafe. In 1997 Lynch accepted a position at Rafael Viñoly Architects where as project manager, he worked on larger and more complex projects, including the Bronx County Courthouse and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Christian went on to become a Senior Associate at Janson Goldstein where he remained until devoting himself full-time as a founding partner at Lynch Eisinger Design Architects.

Christian Lynch is a registered architect in the State of New York, a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Society of American Registered Architects and the Latino Alumni Association of Columbia University. He has taught at NJIT and is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor w/ CCE at Pratt Institute School of Architecture.
