The Frontier of Life: Opening Reception + Panel

October 19, 2022 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Student Union

The Frontier of Life will be on display at the student union from October 17-21. The exhibit includes a series of posters created by Ukrainian illustrators created after the start of the recent war. All illustrators are members of the Pictoric Illustrators Club (PIC) — a proactive community of Ukrainian illustrators, graphic designers, and artists. Within this context, young illustrators use their art as a weapon. Their art reflects their fears, feelings, and pain. You can also view the artwork online at https://www.supportukraine-pic.com.
Opening Reception:
There will be a reception and panel on October 19th at 5 pm, that will include Ukrainian Youth Delegates to the UN, and the Ukrainian Ambassador to the UN, one of the exhibit curators, and Professor Luka Lucic.

Professor Luka was approached by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, which, as you may have noticed, is working hard to raise awareness of the war in Ukraine. In the context of the upcoming UN General Assembly, Ukrainian Youth Delegates will be in New York from October 27, 2022, working at the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN.

Sponsors:
The exhibit is sponsored by the department of Social Science and Cultural Studies and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Pratt and co-organized with the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation; The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; the Pictoric Illustrators Club; Ukrainian Youth Delegates to the UN; Razom for Ukraine and BelkaStrelka.
