RADICAL WELCOME | A SPIRIT of SACRED SPACE SOIRÉE @ the INTERFAITH COMMONS
November 18, 2025 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Interfaith Commons (East Hall Annex), 215 Ryerson St, Brooklyn, NY 11205
Join Pratt’s Campus Ministry on November 18th for a soft launch of our new Interfaith Commons Project Initiative in collaboration with Interior Design and the office of Student Involvement!
Come by to celebrate over hors d’oeuvres and drinks, with live music from local pianist Isaac Monheit, while you check out our inaugural “Spirit of Sacred Space” show — featuring original artists books and research works on paper from Professor Jessica Caldwell’s Interior Design Seminar.
These works explore Sacred Archetypes, as part of these designers’ ongoing considerations of what makes space “sacred,” across both secular and religious sites. Featured designers include: Jenna Alghanim, Kenzie Cuvelier, Danielle J.S. Gordon, Siya Jindal, April Li, Heather Mohney, Gin Yoong Oh, Yejie Shin, Zoey Wei Sun and Jasmine Tannoury.
Add to our dialogue wall with your thoughts on what holds sacred value to you, and join in conversation with our Interfaith Advisors, the designers, and Pratt community members about what you might envision growing in this new creative incubation space!
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT OUR INTERFAITH COMMONS PROJECT SPACE INITIATIVE:
If a “commons” is a space that is accessible to all but owned by none, what happens in an interfaith commons on a campus where many people do not identify as religious? Is it theirs as well? The answer is a resounding YES!
Featuring arts programming of all sorts from Pratt’s creative community, Our Commons project space initiative is an invitation to collectively explore the meaning of the “sacred,” of belief, of the profound, and to ask questions about being in the world together through our work.
THIS PROJECT IS Co-Curated by Pratt Minister-Professor-artist Rev. Elæ Moss Benedetto, with invited guests …and YOU. If you’re interested in pitching a show or helping out, email rev.mossbenedetto@pratt.edu!
