“PANORAMIC VIEW: Portrait of the Artist Francine Tint” Screening
January 9, 2026 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Pratt Film/Video Department Screening Room 550 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205
Alumni Engagement invites you to a screening of “PANORAMIC VIEW: Portrait of the Artist Francine Tint,” a documentary that celebrates the life and work of Francine Tint, a Pratt alumna and a gutsy and passionate abstract expressionist painter. At 81, Tint reflects on her lifelong commitment to painting, from her Brooklyn childhood and early career as a top NYC stylist, to her struggles in the male-dominated abstract art world, to her immersion in the vibrant New York clubs of the 80s and 90s. With humor, candor and an original jazz soundtrack, Francine shares her creative journey, while art critics weigh in on the legacy she leaves behind.
Kara Hearn, the Chairperson of the Film and Video Department, will moderate the post-screening Q & A with the documentary’s creative team, including director, Pola Rapaport, cinematographer, Wolfgang Held (also the cinematographer of “The Andy Warhol Diaries”) and Francine Tint.
RSVP required. Open to the public.
