Foreword: Architecture may exist not in the external world, but in the very modifications of the mind that meditates on it.

Today, technology opens another ground for architectural conjuring alongside the mind and the material world. Within the simulated realm, ideas can emerge, multiply, and mutate at a speed and scale untethered from material consequence. They may remain unresolved, speculative, or impossible, without the demand to ever become physical.

OTHER GROUNDS brings together architectural student work and experimental forms of digital representation that inhabit this condition. The works move between design and image-making, spatial proposition and visual speculation. Representation becomes a field of its own: a place where architectural thought, modified and accelerated by technology, can take form with immediacy, then linger in a simulated space with an almost perfect stillness.
