Nature as Inspiration: Bio-Inspired Student Projects
November 2 – November 7, 2026 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Online
What can we learn from nature? Explore first-year students’ inventive, bio-inspired projects in art, animation, and sustainable design.
This digital presentation features a selection of first-year Foundation students’ self-directed, bio-inspired design projects in a variety of media. Each project explores an animal or organic form through research, biomimicry, sustainable design, and creative expression, inviting curiosity about the natural world. From sharks and peacocks to the mantis shrimp, students translate nature’s forms and strategies into imaginative work, including zines, paintings, animated videos, and design prototypes. The presentation will be hosted on Milanote, allowing viewers to explore the students’ projects, research, and creative processes online. View it any time during Pratt Earth Action Week.
Presenters:
Carol Diamond, Adjunct Professor, CCE, Foundation
