April 30, 2026 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Foundations Lab, Main Hall 401, 200 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205

Image includes information about the Foundation Student Exhibition: PROCESS, the Closing Reception on April 30th, from 6-8 pm. At the bottom of the image is a colorful, abstract design of green floating squares and blobs.

We invite you to a Foundation student exhibition, PROCESS, showcasing the creative work happening across our courses, on view from 4/6–4/30. Work can be seen in the hallways on Main Hall 3rd and 4th floor, East Hall 3rd and 4th floor, South Hall 3rd floor and Pratt Studios basement level.

A closing celebration will take place on Thursday, April 30th from 6–8pm in the Foundations Lab. Light refreshments will be served. Visitors and students are welcome to observe and participate in live optical mixing led by Foundation faculty.

PROCESS focuses on the developmental stages of a work such as sketches, ideation, research, revision, or other experimentation from the student’s workflow. Foundation faculty members were invited to curate work from their class on the theme of PROCESS. This exhibition was organized by the Foundation Coordinators.

Lumia Projection: Optical Re-Mix Live

During the closing reception, Foundation faculty, Deborah Johnson, will host a live Lumia light-art projection in the Foundations Lab using prisms, glass, water, and reflective materials. Animated optical compositions will be projected and mixed in real time, transforming graphic illusion into atmospheric fields of light and color through prismatic distortion. Visitors and students are welcome to observe and participate in the live mixing environment.
