Digital Dovetailing, celebrates the student work from faculty Jonathan A. Scelsa, and Greg Sheward’s Summer 2025 Advanced Undergraduate Architecture Studio. The summer studio examined the slow craft procedures of architectural woodworking to inform a resistance to the culture of immediacy of contemporary architectural image making and fast produced form. Beginning with a study of Japanese joinery, the studio investigated the interlocking of distinct spatial entities, augmented by graphic interplay as facilitated by new digital tools of CNC 3-Axis and 6 Axis machines. The exhibition displays the work of the studio including full scale furniture pieces, along with critical models and prototypes.
