Lucija Mrzljak is a Croatian animation director and illustrator based in Tallinn, Estonia. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, she studied animation across Zagreb, Krakow, Prague, and Tallinn. Her award-winning films include Eeva, The Stork, and A Demonstration of Brilliance in Four Acts. Her films, including A Demonstration of Brilliance in Four Acts, The Stork, and Eeva, co-directed with Morten Tšinakov, have received international recognition and numerous awards. Eeva premiered at the Berlinale in 2023, was shortlisted for the 2024 Academy Awards, and received the Emile Award for Best Visual Design. Alongside filmmaking, Lucija works as an illustrator and has created children’s books, posters, political satire, and animated music videos. She has taught at the Estonian Academy of Arts since 2019 and has lectured internationally at institutions including Aalto University, Turku Arts Academy, Lusófona University, Aichi University of the Arts, and UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) in Mexico City.
