CONDENSATIONS Designing In Water PART 03 of 03 Design and Action: Reciprocity from South to North

March 25, 2023 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pratt Research Yard
Building 3, Brooklyn Navy Yard

Climate Adaptation requires new modes of thinking, inclusion, design and representation. This all day workshop reflects the urgency of working in this manner. Drawing upon guidance from Rebuild by Design and Water as Leverage, examples shared in Condensations 1 and 2, student/faculty/expert teams will be working with local partners on three sites located in Brooklyn and Queens.  Each site showcases differing hydrological, geopolitical and geological challenges within the NYC urban Archipelago and across Long Island – the most densely populated island in the US and 18th most densely populated island on the planet. The workshop will be complemented by visualizations developed using artificial intelligence.
