CALL/VoCA Talk: A Panel Discussion with Legacy Specialists

December 6, 2019 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Whitney Museum Senior Curatorial Assistant Christie Mitchell will moderate a discussion with artists Lehna Huie and Beth Krebs, who were trained by the Joan Mitchell Foundation as Legacy Specialists to assist artists participating in the Creating a Living Legacy (CALL) initiative. They will reflect on how this intergenerational collaboration continues to influence their own artistic practice, and produce new approaches to the creation and preservation of contemporary art. This program is free and open to the public, but we ask that you RSVP in advance.

About the series: VoCA (Voices in Contemporary Art) is a non-profit organization that generates critical dialogue and collaborative programming to advance a vital model for the stewardship of contemporary art. This event is part of the fifth season of VoCA’s on-going CALL/VoCA Talks series, hosted in partnership with the Joan Mitchell Foundation’s Creating a Living Legacy (CALL) Program. These Talks aim to highlight the innovative CALL initiative while also underscoring the crucial need for dialogue with artists around the production, presentation, and preservation of their work.
