Bookmaking & Identities: Writing and Illustrating Our Own Stories

Pratt Institute’s Art and Design Education Department, in collaboration with New York City Public School Office of Library Services, the Arts Office and the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation and will be hosting a special workshop for school librarians, art teachers and other NYC educators. The workshop will provide support for teachers to participate in the Ezra Jack Keats Bookmaking Competition. The agenda will include: guest speaker and Pratt Alumni Susie Jaramillio and a presentation by Pratt librarian Alex Austin of picture books from the collection, as well as an interactive bookmaking demonstration led by Visiting Assistant Professor Louise Butler.
