BLUE WEEK: Core of Me: A Hike-Play by Jeremy Pickard of Superhero Clubhouse

October 5, 2019 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Core of Me: A Hike-Play is a moving performance that coexists with a walk in the woods by the Hudson River, exploring climate anxiety and resilience through the perspectives of a human and a tree, seeking guidance from each other in a time of rapid change. Attend the first performance of Core of Me: A Hike Play and then stick around to enjoy Lamont’s Open House, a science fair at one of the world’s top climate science campuses at Columbia University. Core of Me: A Hike Play is being developed as part of Pratt’s STEAMplant residency program. The October 5 performance is presented as part of Lamont’s annual Open House event, which is free and open to the public. Find out more about the day’s activities.

Directions: To get to Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory: Take a shuttle bus from 120th Street in front of Teachers College, Columbia University. The first shuttle leaves at 9:15 AM, and they continue every 15 minutes until 1:15 PM. The shuttle is free, takes approximately 60 minutes, and departs right on time. The walk itself is moderate in difficulty. The performance will last approximately 45 minutes. For more information, contact Jeremy Pickard at jeremy@superheroclubhouse.org. Hosted by STEAMplant.
