Axi:Ome: INVISIBLE and VISIBLE PRACTICE

April 9, 2026 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM

Higgins Hall Auditorium, 61 St. James Place, Brooklyn, NY 11238

UMSL in grand center project

Invisible presents the work of Axi:Ome, the design practice led by Heather Woofter and Sung Ho Kim, tracing its evolution from 2015 to 2023. Through twenty-four built, unbuilt, and conceptual projects situated across diverse cultural and geographic contexts, the book maps a trajectory of inquiry across programs and scales. Essays by Nader Tehrani, Eric Mumford, Alan Balfour, Jennifer Yoos, Jessie Reiser and Nanako Umemoto with Julian Harake, and Michelle L. Hauk critically frame the practice’s theoretical and pedagogical foundations. Together, the projects and texts articulate an “invisible” ethos that underlies architectural production, positioning practice as a form of research shaped by academic discourse and contemporary complexity.

This event is open to the public and will be recorded.
