ARBORETA Sound Collective: Biosonification Sound Bath
November 5, 2026 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
East Hall, Room 303 Brooklyn, NY, 200 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205
A stress-reducing sound bath using flute, cello, singing bowls, and biosonified plant sounds. Sit, lie down, or move as you listen.
ARBORETA is a socially engaged sound collective that offers participatory sound baths with the community it serves.
The founding members are composed of Creative Arts Therapy candidate Sal Daña (they/them) and Grammy winning cellist Leah Coloff (she/they).
The practitioners use flute, cello, and singing bowls to provide an acoustic soundscape that attunes to the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress levels in listening participants.
This sound session will include the use of biosonification to incorporate the sounds from a plant.
Participants are free to sit, lay, or move to absorb the sound bath.
The group has an ongoing collaboration with the Resilience, Wellness, and Well-being Center at Pratt.
Presenters:
Sal Daña – Creative Arts Therapy
