Alumni Talks with Allen Frame – Zachary Lucero and Erica Quinn

October 21, 2020 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Pratt Photography invites you to its first Alumni Talks via Online Event, presenting two photographers who received their MFA’s at Pratt: Zachary Lucero and Erica Quinn. MFA Photography Professor Allen Frame will host the talk on Wednesday, Oct 21st, at 7pm EST. Lucero and Quinn, who both write poetry, will present their photographs as well as read poems, and Frame will ask them about their careers since leaving Pratt.

This event is sponsored by the Pratt institute Academic Senate and is free and open to the Pratt Institute community and the general public.

Zachary Lucero is a Brooklyn-based artist and writer. His studio practice focuses on diaristic writing and using memory to frame personal histories. His work oscillates between photography, text, and sculpture and pairs images with text to create narrative spaces. His writing and photography are prompted by family photographs and found images.

Lucero received an MFA from Pratt Institute in 2016. His work has been exhibited and/or read in The Boiler Room, Pierogi Gallery (NY), Unnameable Books (NY), No. 4 Studio (NY), The Sunview Luncheonette (NY), and Puffin Cultural Forum (NJ). He curated Let me hold your breath at Baxter Street Camera Club (NY), featuring Tal Gilboa and Elizabeth Kleberg. He currently serves as an Academic Advisor for the Associate Art and BFA Interior Design Departments at Pratt Institute.

Erica Quinn is an artist and educator whose practice focuses on the meaning of place and space, integrating analog photography utilizing expired film, moving image, and poetry. Excavating the complexities of memory and loss, this work articulates an occupation of the liminal.

Quinn graduated from Juniata College in 2010 with a BA in Photography & Literature and earned her MFA from the Pratt Institute in 2013. Quinn currently teaches and advises at Penn State University.
