Pietro Quintino Sella, MID ’21, was selected as one of the best global design graduates by Antenna, which is part of the annual Dutch Design Week that was held this October. He presented his thesis project the Subline which explores the possibility of underground rail-bicycles that could be installed on disused subway lines in Manhattan.
On Monday, November 1, from 5 PM to 7 PM, join Tune in to Vote on the Pratt Brooklyn campus main lawn. The event will include music, button making, and more to encourage the Pratt community to make a voting plan and learn more about important measures on the ballot for November 2.

Dannielle Bowman, visiting assistant professor of photography, recently joined the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University for a discussion of her art. A recording of the talk is available to view online.
Karina Sharif, BFA Fashion Design ’08, was featured in Vice’s i-D magazine as part of the BTF100, a list of Black creatives, artists, and tastemakers making an impact on art and media. The article highlights her artwork that involves wearable paper sculptures, photography, and set design: “I tend to think of Black womxn and our minds, [our] voices, as a map. All we need to do is connect in order to continually see and contribute to the vision.”
The Pratt Center for Community Development announced the 2021-22 Taconic Fellows. This year’s edition of the annual awards supports teams of Pratt faculty, staff, and students working on projects related to public health, from healthy food vending carts to reviving a neglected community garden. The Pratt Textile Dye Garden located on the Brooklyn campus recently harvested fresh indigo leaves for bundle dyeing. The project explores collaboration, sustainability, and experimentation in using natural dyes. See more @prattdyegarden.

This Tuesday from 3 PM to 8 PM EST, Pratt’s Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD) program is joining a virtual and in-person event at the Center for Architecture with the AIANY Committee on the Environment, NJIT’s Hillier School of Architecture, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). Wast(ED): Living with Trash will examine how waste is addressed in an urban context. The event includes work from Pratt and NJIT students.
