A New York Times obituary for Bob Diamond, Electrical Engineering ’79, remembered how Diamond first heard about a lost subway tunnel under Brooklyn while he was a student at Pratt. He would go on to rediscover the world’s oldest subway tunnel underneath Atlantic Avenue and lead tours into the underground passage for three decades. The story links to a 2009 Prattfolio interview with Diamond where he describes seeing the tunnel for the first time as “akin to landing on the moon.”

Aseel AlYaqoub, MFA ’15, co-curated Space Wars, the Kuwait Pavilion at this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale. The project involves research, interviews, and collaborations around the future of Kuwait’s landscapes as the country’s urban areas expand.

Soyeon Kwon and Yi-Ting Hsieh, both MFA Interior Design ’21, received second prize in this year’s IIDA Student Design Competition for their design for a primary care clinic that is comfortable and relaxing environment for patients and physicians.
