  • Undergraduate architecture student Catherine Chattergoon was interviewed by Madame Architect. She discussed why she decided to study architecture, her work towards equity through DEI initiatives on campus, and what she hopes to accomplish in the future: “My goal is to create empowering spaces that serve people and the planet, but I would also like to contribute to the world through writing, teaching, and other modes of creativity. I hope to continue learning and growing while also giving back as much as I possibly can.”

  • Neel Soni, BFA Film ’24, was longlisted for the 2025 BAFTA Student Awards for his film Babli by Night. “The film follows the story of Babban, a Muslim, transgender forest guard battling societal as well as familial indifference, seeking solace among nature, and grappling with an unexpected HIV diagnosis,” Soni wrote.

  • Isabel Colón, MFA Writing ’26, Andrew Riad, MFA Writing ’25, and Adjunct Professor – CCE of Writing Anna Moschovakis represented the Writing Department at AWP in Los Angeles.

  • Lillian Benson, BFA Art Education ’70, received Black Public Media’s 2025 Trailblazer Award for her work editing films including American Masters – Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise, Beyond the Steps: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Dancing: New World, New Forms.
