This course is an intensive, immersive, and investigative study of the world of Maurice Sendak and his use of imagery as a tool for communicating messages and storytelling. Thorough examination of Sendak's work will actively engage students in the generative process of illustration from ideation and first sketches, through final creative revisions and layout, to printed publication.
