Students in this course will have the opportunity to plan for and teach children and young people attending the Saturday Art School, the Department of Art and Design Educations laboratory school. Under the guidance of faculty, students will learn to integrate the knowledge, skills and values of their studio-core as they develop and teach art and design projects that will serve as their Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA) submission for New York State (NYS) certification. Students work for 13 days on campus on Saturdays planning and teaching children and young people. The semester culminates in a curated exhibition. For ADE majors this course is the clinical component of Professional Practices in which students will be supported to complete their TPA submissions.
