This course offers an in-depth exploration of the foundational theories of human motivation, including self-determination theory, expectancy-value theory, goal-setting theory, and the role of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Students will apply these frameworks to a range of real-world contexts, examining how motivation shapes behavior in academic achievement, athletic and artistic performance, socialrelationships, and even maladaptive patterns such as addiction and psychopathology.
