As such, it represents a critical area of concern for those involved in the practice of historic preservation, planning, architecture and urban design. Commercial or Downtown Revitalization covers a broad spectrum of issues, including all matters of design (urban design, public space design, graphics, etc.), preservation, planning, organization, economic development, promotion, marketing, retailing, and building a working relationship with all members of the public and private community.
