ASGM-208P How to Build the Future

This studio-based course equips students with strategic foresight methods and speculative design tools to imagine and build desired futures amid global uncertainty. Through their chosen artistic medium, students design “artifacts from the future” that explore how emerging technologies shape societies equitably and sustainably, interrogating the values and consequences embedded in innovation. As a final project, students develop their own futures framework that envisions a preferred future and measures meaningful change over time.
