In this studio course, students will meet and work on-site at various NYC locations to draw, journal, and document the environment they observe around them, to create visual narrative and collect graphic inspiration. Drawing on location is a method that can be applied to different genres such as illustration, graphic design, animation, photography, film, and fine arts. Visual communicators who draw what they observe may become first-hand witnesses to history, and their sketchbooks become artifacts of truth; documents written in images.
