This course provides an interdisciplinary introduction to archaeology as a Mode of Thinking, Making, and Doing, emphasizing the study of material remains, ancient cities and landscapes, environmental changes, and the use of digital technologies in archaeological work. Students will explore core methods, theories, and analytical approaches that archaeologists use to discover, analyze, and interpret remains of ancient cities and societies, while also considering how archaeological insights inform contemporary global challenges. Hands-on lab activities introduce students to digital technologies such as GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analysis, enabling innovative engagement with archaeological data.
