This graduate-level course explores the rich and varied aesthetic and cultural traditions associated with Chinese-language cinema. It offers students the opportunity to view and analyze films from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and throughout the Chinese-speaking world using materials in both Chinese and English. No prior knowledge of Chinese is required.
