In this course, students learn to create credible, emotive, characters, for cartoons andanimation. Instruction covers research, physical traits, such as proportions, silhouette, posture,and a formal language for traits, such as expressions, structure, costume, color, and shapes.In addition, students will explore the historic and current landscape of character design.Through case studies, readings and discussions the application of these skills in variouspractices such as TV animation, package design, books, gaming, and beyond will beexemplified.
