PHOT-111 Being with Photography II
3 Credits
This is part two of a two-part foundational sequence that will introduce students to the ways in which they can think and express through the materials of analog and digital photography. The course will introduce basic techniques, including digital SLR camera operation, color film exposure, film scanning, color workflow in Photoshop, print output via inkjet printers, working with artificial lighting, basic bookbinding techniques, and an introduction to on-demand services for websites and printed books. Emphasis will be placed on students applying these techniques as tools for inquiry, and in creating an environment where projects are held in a state of possibility, evolving and improving through a series of contextual conversations.
