Using several of the largest and most populous archipelagos on the planet as a basis, students will study their past, current and future urban development. The habits, rituals and practices that anchor the cities within them and their cultures ability to live with water, will form the substrate of the course. Students will diagram, visualize and deliver various solutions and narratives surrounding the prospective ways in which these regions offer alternative models of urban development and for adapting to current and future climate challenges.
