What is On-Campus Employment

Student Employment is a program that allows students at Pratt on-campus employment opportunities while engaging in their studies. Student Employment consists of Federal Work Study (FWS), Student Work Fund (SWF) and Graduate Assistantship (GA).

Am I Eligible to Apply?

International students are immediately eligible for on-campus jobs once their SEVIS record is activated. OIA is the only office that can activate your SEVIS record. This process is completed within 30 days of your Program Start Date on your I-20.

How do I Apply?

To get a job, you can search online at PrattJobs, ask your department, look for signs on campus, or visit the Center for Career & Professional Development in East Building, Room 001.

Helpful Information

You are limited to 20 hours per week (part-time) during the academic school year. You can work full-time during the summer and other school vacations as long as you are not taking classes. While enrolled as a student, you can work a total of 20 hours weekly during the semester between however many positions you hold, whether through on-campus employment and/or via single or multiple employers on CPT

In order to be paid you will need to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). You will need to gather certain documents in order to apply for a SSN. Please refer to this SSN Worksheet for instructions on how to apply for a SSN.
