The National Art Education Association (NAEA) National Convention serves as a comprehensive professional learning forum for visual art, media arts, and design educators, reflecting NAEA's sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, leadership, and advocacy within the field of art education. The convention provides a rigorous range of scholarly and practice-based learning experiences, including expert-led presentations, workshops, and experiential action learning opportunities that address current research, pedagogical frameworks, and emerging issues in art education. In collaboration with Pratt Institute Continuing and Professional Studies, NAEA has developed a structured Continuing Education Unit (CEU) pathway for art educators participating in the annual National Convention. Through completion of a guided curriculum that integrates convention participation with reflective analysis and applied professional practice, participants may earn one to three university-accredited CEUs.Educators select a designated area of study aligned with individual professional goals, including Curriculum, Instruction, and Innovation, Art Education Advocacy, or Special Interests in Art Education. Through intentional engagement, documentation of learning, and critical reflection, this course supports the translation of convention-based learning into evidence of professional growth, instructional effectiveness, and leadership capacity within educational and professional contexts. This track allows educators to pursue focused learning in specialized or emerging areas of practice, such as equity and access, media arts, design thinking, community-based art education, museum education, or other targeted professional interests.
