Jean worked as a designer and art director at Lee Hunt Associates, Razorfish and subsequently, in-house at Nickelodeon, creating on-air and online brands and identities for companies such as PBS, Arte and Oxygen. She has been a design consultant with non-profit organizations such as Images and Voices of Hope, Randolph School and Teach For America. Her design work has been recognized by AIGA and Print Magazine. In 2003, she completed an apprenticeship at the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at UCSC. In her own work, Jean is interested in exploring tactics of engaging the public on issues related to the environment and community. In 2010, she received a faculty development grant to complete a family portrait using the live data of domestic waste as an online community art project entitled, Squanderless, recently displayed at the Response_ability AIGA Conference. Jean has been a guest critic at SVA and Hofstra University. She has taught at Hunter College, SVA and Pratt Institute. She continues to work as a creative consultant in print, motion and online projects. Jean teaches in both the MS and MFA programs. |
