EducationB.Arch, MIT BiographyAfter brief service in the US Navy, he worked in the office of Werner Both, BDA, Essen, Germany. Upon his return to NYC, he served for extended periods as Project Architect in the office of Edward Larrabee Barnes, AIA, and then with Richard R. Moger, AIA. In the mid 1970’s he set up his own Cabinet Shop while teaching Architecture and Design part-time at Parsons, Orange County Community College, and NYIT. In 1979 he began teaching at Pratt Institute and in 1986 was appointed Chair of the Interior Design Department, a position he held until 1997, at which point he joined the full-time Faculty. He and his wife, Meri Bourgard, also served as Co-coordinators of the DIS Study-Abroad Program in Copenhagen from 1997 to 2009. At present he remains a Tenured Professor on the Interior Design Department’s Faculty at Pratt Institute. |
