Biography

Mr. Pettit received his license to practice Architecture in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts and received his NCARB National Accreditation.  He was a member of the New York Society of Architects and served on the Board of Directors for the Society.

Mr. Pettit is the principal of his practice, Andrew L. Pettit, Architect.  Mr. Pettit’s work encompasses many residential and renewal projects from single family homes and brownstone restorations to multi-family dwelling complexes. Renovated lofts, commercial offices and custom residences as well as industrial adaptive re-use projects and restaurants, a night-club and other hotel and hospitality life style designs, commercial retail outlets and high end design fashion shops are a small list of the projects completed or in process by the firm.  The clients include several corporate groups from General Electric Plastics Division to a major international publishing firm, an international insurance company, a private legal firm, and a specialty paper goods manufacturer.

Mr. Pettit restored Memorial Hall on Pratt’s campus with Philip Farrell.  Several renovation projects on lower Fifth Avenue and in Chelsea are underway and s new office space was just finished at 40 Wall Street.  Mr. Pettit is currently working on a sculptor’s studio, a restaurant in a 60’s bank building on lower Broadway, hotels in lower Manhattan and two in mid-town west area, and several custom homes and vacation second homes.  He has recently completed a 15-story apartment building on Park Avenue and a new Section ‘8’ housing project in the Bronx and The Lenox Grand.
