w14 Labs at Pratt Manhattan
Service
The w14 labs are located on the fifth floor of the Pratt Manhattan campus building located at 144 West 14th Street. Our labs offer state-of-the-art computer and audiovisual technology for students and faculty. The labs are designed to serve the curriculum needs of classes taking place on the Manhattan campus, but are open to students from all programs at Pratt. The labs contain over 250 computers that utilize both Macintosh and Windows operating systems and support a wide array of software systems—from simple design tools to complex 3-D and video editing applications.
Some labs are specialized towards particular curriculum. The Open Lab (room 501) is a space where students, faculty, and staff have full access to computers and any software supported at Pratt Manhattan. The Open Lab provides students with access to all the printers available in the Color Print Center. The Digital Photography Lab (room 515) contains a variety of film and slide scanners and offers discounted digital photo printing for classes using the space. The Digital Drawing Lab (room 516) is equipped with Wacom Cintiq interactive display tablets to support curriculum in illustration and graphic design, focusing on using the computer as a drawing tool. The Finishing Room (room 519) is available to students who are finishing jobs printed in the Color Print Center and offers a variety of equipment used for mounting, cutting, and finishing projects created for classes.
