Policy

Pratt’s Gift Acceptance Policy is designed to provide guidance to the Pratt Board of Trustees, President, administration, academic leadership, and all other faculty, staff and volunteers involved in soliciting and accepting contributions, including grants, sponsorship support, and donations from individuals. The primary purpose of this document is to ensure that Pratt can respond quickly and appropriately to all gift offers while protecting the interests of the Institute, its officers, directors, donors, and prospective donors. The document defines the role of the Division of Institutional Advancement as the central coordinating department for all Pratt Institute fundraising efforts and for all solicitation of funds. The policy also defines Institutional Advancement as the sole Pratt office authorized to communicate with donors about how their contributions are recognized and also to prepare plaques, nameplates, or other means of donor recognition. The document also defines the types of assets and gift types that are acceptable as well as the structure, role, and purpose of the Institute’s Gift Acceptance Committee.
