(Virtual) Memorial for Professor Katavolos

Our highly regarded and long-serving Pratt Institute faculty member William Katavolos, BID ‘49, sadly passed away last week at the age of 96. Architect, designer, and teacher, Katavolos’s career at the School of Architecture began in the 1970s. He co-directed Pratt’s Center for Experimental Structures alongside award-winning Professor Haresh Lalvani.

Said our Pratt Institute President Frances Bronet, “Bill was an extraordinary thinker, and I had the great privilege of learning of his big ideas for the future of architecture and education, we will miss his perpetual enthusiasm for learning, for making, and for teaching.”
