Opening Art and Design Education for a Just and Sustainable World: A Panel Discussion on Open Educational Resources and Practices

April 4, 2024 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

Online

In recognition of Open Education Week, the Pratt Institute Libraries and the Center for Teaching and Learning offer this panel discussion about open educational resources (OERs) and open educational practices (OEPs) in the art and design context. Our panelists include Justine De Young (Chair of History of Art, Fashion Institute of Technology) and Yongyeon Cho (Assistant Professor of Interior Design, Iowa State University).

The panel will discuss how open educational resources and practices can enhance art and design education and how faculty can get involved with OERs and OEPs, as well as how OERs and OEPs contribute to creative practice, social justice, inclusive pedagogy, sustainability, and student success. During the event, we will also hear from members of the Pratt community about ongoing OER and OEP initiatives and projects.
