MLK Day of Service with Father’s Heart Ministries
January 26, 2019 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Pratt is holding a week of events from 1/21-1/26 in honor of social justice, unity, and empowerment. On Saturday, January 26, we will be reflecting on the works and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through a day of service where we will be working with Father’s Heart Ministries. By working in the soup kitchen, we will be providing to communities facing food insecurity and contributing to Father’s Heart Ministries’ mission: “To declare and demonstrate God’s love through practical expressions of compassion. It is our vision and our hope that our guests – including those who are homeless, working poor, immigrants, families, and the elderly – would experience God’s love, would know that He cares deeply for them and desires they be restored in all aspects of their lives.”
This event has space for 15 volunteers, and is a wonderful way to round off the week’s events with a day of action and compassion! Please join us for this wonderful opportunity to serve and support the underserved communities around us, and we look forward to seeing you in 2019!
We will be meeting at the cannon at 6 AM and will leave promptly at 7:10 AM.
Breakfast Service starts at 8 AM and runs until 12 PM.
Please bring your Metrocard—we will be using transit to get to and from Father’s Heart Ministries. It will cost approximately $5.50 (one swipe there, one swipe to get back).
