Material Musings

This show, led by Borinquen Gallo, features the work produced in Media and Materials I, in which students engage in a series of studio activities investigating a wide variety of materials, concepts and processes in art and design. Analyzing their possibilities and limitations and informed by these and their studio practices, they develop artworks and learn to translate and adapt contemporary ideas into lessons for a variety of age groups. Through a playful exploration of both traditional art store supplies and found, recycled materials, students learn to respond to site, time and materials, as they generate their own content and meaning.
