This is a hands-on, highly interactive course that conceptualizes how entrepreneurs think and innovate. The course has been created specifically for forward-thinking, locally and globally minded art and design students who want to cultivate a vision that leverages their talents and affords them the basic theory and skills to develop their own business, and create social change and innovation by integrating the arts and design. Through a structured program, students will develop a clear strategic plan and pitch for an artifact, a brand, service or social enterprise. They will learn to see beyond perceived obstacles of acquiring their own company. While learning to embrace the many opportunities available for people, place, society, business, and technology. Students will develop an entrepreneurship mindset that will aid them in strategic design thinking, as well as developing a more holistic view of the world as it pertains to business, community and social change.
