The relationship between the history of art and design and social justice entails questions about the formation of personal and group identity, the nature of representation, the distribution of social goods including material objects, and the entitlement of different groups to the use of various social spaces. This course, the third in a series of seminars required for HAD majors, will address these questions through the rigorous investigation of social justice issues in selected cultures and time periods.
