The aim of this studio is to search for ways to make modular design relevant today. We are convinced that a hands-on research seminar dedicated to the exploration of modular construction’s future is necessary to address this conundrum. Alongside our applied approach are the following big-world aims for the integration of modular systems into the architectural professional: 1. Metropolitanism and the re-use of suburbia through the construction of multi-family housing projects in office parks 2. Advancement of net-zero architecture by assimilating building systems into the modular construction design process 3. Inclusion of social justice & mental health issues as key design drivers for supportive housing
