ART-00XH Fundamentals of Color

0 Credits

HEOP Fundamentals of Color. Fundamentals of color, light and design (LCD) moves from investigation of fundamental principles and phenomena toward assignments in which students use what they have learned as tools, achieving more complex and conceptual objectives. In LCD the student is immersed in - and sensitized to - the complete range of color and its attributes and to principles and elements of design and how the two work together. Students will engage in analysis, self-reflection, and creative interpretation so that they develop as visual thinkers and sensitive observers, leading to the discovery of their individual voice. Central to the philosophy of this course is the recognition that color and design are not experienced in isolation. Students revisit and link ideas about light, color, design, and perception in a spiraling arc, allowing essential connections fundamental to art and design.
