This course is designed to introduce students to the complex interrelationships between individual psychological life and culture. Such an approach helps us understand diverse societies, but even more importantly, helps make explicit how "Western-ness" can shape the way one thinks and feels. Sample topics include the relationships between culture and thought, emotion, biology, childhood and technology.
