ACM-643 Art, Culture, and Social Policy

This course examines the relationship between public policy and cultural programs. By mapping the various systems that influence government, creative enterprise, and community, participants explore policy impacts on the production and consumption of the arts, cultural and ‘heritage’ programs; arts-based economic development; ‘gentrification’ and social structures of place related to equity; and climate change, sustainability, and resiliency.
