Using several of the largest and most populous archipelagos on the planet as a basis, students will study their past, current and future urban development "logics." The urban habits, rituals and practices that anchor those cities' and their culture's ability to live with water, will form the substrate of the course. Students will diagram, visualize and deliver various solutions and narratives surrounding the prospective ways in which these regions are likely to offer models for adapting to permanent climate change.
