In-Person Undergraduate Information Sessions

The Office of Admissions will host in-person General Undergraduate Information Sessions on select days this Fall.

Beginning October 3rd, campus tours will include a brief, 30-minute info session prior to starting the tour. The In-Person Info Sessions listed below are designed for students and their guests who are interested in receiving in-depth information about Pratt withot also attending a tour. If you would prefer to register for the tour/info session option, please visit our Campus Tours page.

In the 60 minute info sessions scheduled below, our Admissions team will share a presentation on the Pratt application process and portfolio requirements during each hosted session. A Q&A with current students and admissions staff will be included. Our Information Sessions are an excellent introduction for prospective undergraduate students and families looking at Pratt for the first time.

By completing one of the following forms, we also encourage families to register for an individual counselor meeting or portfolio review in-person in the Admissions office or virtually via Zoom.

Registration is required. Space is limited and we ask that each prospective student only attend with one (1) guest.

Virtual Undergraduate Information Sessions

Virtual General Undergraduate Information Sessions are offered on select Saturdays throughout the Fall. They are an excellent introduction for prospective undergraduate students and families looking at Pratt for the first time. Offered online through Zoom, sessions include a presentation by an admissions staff member covering Pratt’s majors, the application process, portfolio requirements, and more. Sessions last approximately one hour, with time for Q&A. 

By completing one of the following forms, we also encourage families to register for an individual counselor meeting or portfolio review in-person in the Admissions office or virtually via Zoom.

Pratt Munson Undergraduate Information Sessions

Pratt boasts an extension campus in Utica, New York, which is connected to a world class museum and is located a short drive from over 6 million  acres of protected Adirondack wilderness. A number of students from select majors choose to start their education at Pratt Munson, complete two years there, and finish their final two years on our Brooklyn campus. Pathways to Pratt Information Sessions

Pathways to Pratt is for prospective students, as well as the families, teachers and community-based organizations who support them.

Whether you’re an aspiring artist, designer, or architect, Pathways to Pratt offers a comprehensive overview of the institute’s offerings and its commitment to fostering innovation and creativity.

You’ll receive essential details about the application process, financial aid options, and life at Pratt. Admissions counselors will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance on how to present your best self through your application. The session will also provide insights into the Pratt community, its collaborative environment, and the opportunities for personal and artistic growth that await you.

During this session, we’ll help guide prospective students through the application process. Attendees will gain valuable insights into crafting a compelling portfolio, writing effective yet compelling essays, and navigating the admissions requirements. Our admissions team will also allot space for questions and answers.

Funding Your Education

Diverse Scholars

Join our up close and personal look into The Diverse Scholars Program, which is a learning community of peer scholars. Membership in this cohort provides students with free access to optional activities, programs, and services designed to enhance the Pratt educational experience for BIPOC scholarship recipients. Diverse Scholars will have access to the following experiences at no cost:

  • Specially focused orientation workshops during New Student Orientation.
  • Opportunity to live in a learning community with Diverse Scholars in your major.
  • On-campus employment in positions aimed at providing leadership skills.
  • Community service opportunities 
  • Social gatherings
  • Health and wellbeing support programming

Life in Brooklyn

Life in Brooklyn is a unique and informative event that provides prospective students with a comprehensive overview of Pratt Institute’s academic offerings and the vibrant lifestyle awaiting them in the heart of Brooklyn. This session goes beyond the traditional admissions information by highlighting the unparalleled experience of living and studying in one of the world’s most dynamic and culturally rich cities.

During this session, attendees will gain insights into what it’s like to be part of the Brooklyn community. Our admissions counselors, current students and Student Life team will discuss the unique opportunities for artistic and personal growth that come with studying in Brooklyn, from exploring its eclectic neighborhoods to engaging with its thriving arts scene.

Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how Pratt Institute’s location in Brooklyn shapes not only their education but also their life outside the classroom.

A member of the Learning/Access Team and our admission counselors will discuss the application process for accommodations, the types of support offered, and the steps taken to create an inclusive learning environment. Attendees will also have the opportunity to gain insights into how learning accommodations can empower individuals to thrive academically and creatively.

Following this panel discussion our admissions counselor will share information on internships, potential career paths,  our study abroad program and young alumni connections. Our admissions team is eager to answer any questions you may have on your journey to becoming a Pratt student.
