Learn to design architectural spaces. This course is designed to introduce students to ideas, principles, concepts, and methods of architectural design in a studio setting. Through a graduated sequence of analytic and generative approaches and exercises, students explore the architectural concepts and principles of space, form, function, scale, site, structure, and inhabitation. Using a variety of techniques, students learn to develop plans, sections, elevations and axonometrics; and create a design project through different design phases, appropriate to present in a portfolio.
